Selcore - high performance coring tool Selantic’s patented hydrostatic coring tool. Selcore is a powerful yet lightweight coring tool that offers exceptional cost effective and reliable core sampling. Designed to operate in water depths as deep as 6000m. Selcore uses the high pressures found in deep waters to power its hydrostatic motor, no hydraulic or electrical umbilical required.

The large diameter cores give high quality samples. Able to penetrate as deep as 20 – 30m it is ideally suited to investigate potential anchor installation areas.

 

Able to operate from small research vessels, Selcore requires very little support equipment.

In shallow water, Selcore can be supplemented with a support stand and water pump that can be driven until full penetration has occurred. As only water is pumped into the Selcore it is very safe to use in areas of environmental concern, including fresh water sites.
